TRAINING COURSES

We have courses to cater for just about everyone ranging from Puppy Foundation Courses, Beginner Courses, Improvers and Advanced Courses.

PUPPY COURSES

Our Puppy Foundation Courses are structured courses which cover all the puppy basics. These include basic skills such as sit, stay, come, wait, stand etc. We cover responsible ownership, walking nicely on a lead, handling your puppy and inspection, health and well being, controlled and safe socialisation with other puppies, fun and games.

Puppy Courses are fun. Like small children: puppies learn through play, fun, games and reward!

Courses are held over a six week period and classes are kept small - maximum of eight puppies at any one time.

There is no formal 'test' at the end of this particular course as it is an entry level class and we want both you and your dog to learn and enjoy without additional pressures so we are not looking to produce obedience robots at this early stage! An award will be made to you however based on an overall assessment during the lessons - so let's keep this one fun and informative and wanting to come back for more!!

BEGINNERS COURSES

This is a six week course for puppies that have completed the Puppy Foundation Course and/or for the beginner dog aged 6 months or older with little or no previous training.
The aim of this course is to have your dog walk nicely on a lead, to stay in one position when asked, allow the owner to groom and inspect it. The dog will learn to sit, stand, lie down whilst on a lead and also to to come to the owner when called.
We also cover basic first aid, door control, the retrieve and more besides! Again fun games are used in this training to help keep your dogs interested and to encourage them to keep learning!
At the end of this course there is the option for owners and their dogs to take the Beginners Test. Those passing will receive a certificate to mark their achievements!

IMPROVERS COURSES

This is a six week course for more advanced dogs. Dogs must have completed and passed the Beginners Course to be eligible for the Improvers Course.
This course carries on from the Beginners Course and is aimed at those who would like to take their training to a new and exciting level. Again emphasis is on fun and games thus making the learning process a positive and enjoyable experience for both owner and dog.
At the end of the course there is the option for owners and their dogs to take the Improvers Test. Those passing will receive a certificate to mark their achievements.

ADVANCED COURSES

This is a six week course for dogs that have completed and passed both the Beginners & Improvers Courses. This course carries on from the previous courses but presents some new and more challenging exercises that will be both exciting and fun for dog and owner alike.
As with the Beginners & Improvers classes all dogs and owners will be invited at the end of the course to take part in the Advanced test!

RALLY OBEDIENCE

Rally is a fantastic new sport widely used in the USA and reasonably new to the UK.
The best way to explain Rally is a cross between traditional competition obedience/heel work and agility but not so strict and fun, fun, fun!
It is a wonderful opportunity to bond with your dog using basic commands such as sit, down, come, stay, heel.
This sport is designed to be suited to any breed, shape or size dog or handler.
The aim is to train your dog to a high standard and to achieve a qualifying score and then go on to a Rally title!

Emphasis is on a happy 'team' relationship with your dog!
